A public Snapchat profile, without the app

Snapchat is built around the mobile app, and outside the app it can be hard to get an overview of a profile. The SnapSave profile viewer gives you a tidy summary of any public Snapchat profile in your browser: who it is, how many subscribers they have, what they wrote in their bio, and everything they currently share publicly. You don't need an account, and the creator won't see your visit.

What the profile viewer shows

• Display name and username. The name the creator chose and their unique Snapchat handle.
• Profile picture. Shown larger than in the app. For the full-resolution version with a download button, use the profile picture viewer.
• Subscriber count. Public profiles can show how many people subscribe to them. We display the number Snapchat publishes on the public page.
• Bio. The short description from the profile, if the creator has added one.
• Public story, highlights and Spotlight. Every public item, grouped by type, with previews and download buttons.
• A direct link to open the profile in Snapchat if you decide to subscribe or add them.

Public profiles vs personal accounts

Snapchat has two kinds of presence. A personal account is what most people use to chat with friends. Its stories are usually visible only to friends or a custom list, and very little of it is visible to strangers. A public profile is an optional layer that creators, businesses and public figures turn on. It can show a bio, subscriber count, public stories, saved highlights, Spotlight videos and sometimes Lenses.

The profile viewer only works with public profiles, because only they publish content to the open web. If you search a personal account, you may see a basic name and avatar, or a message that nothing public is available. That is the expected result, not an error. We can't, and won't, reveal anything a person hasn't made public.

Why people use a Snapchat profile viewer

To check before you add. Before subscribing or sending a friend request, it helps to confirm you have the right account and see what kind of content they post.

For brand and influencer research. Marketers compare subscriber counts and posting styles across creators before planning a campaign.

For creators checking their own profile. Seeing your profile as a logged-out visitor shows you exactly what the public sees, which is useful after changing privacy settings.

For parents. Looking at the public content of an account your child follows gives you context without creating a Snapchat account yourself.

Tips for finding the right profile

Snapchat usernames are unique, but display names are not. Many accounts can be called "Alex", but only one can be alex. We built the profile viewer for looking at public information, not for tracking people. Please don't use it to monitor someone who has asked you to leave them alone. Creators who want their public profile removed from our tool can send a request through our contact page, and we'll exclude it.
